My American Tale is an American History podcast hosted by me, archivist Brittany Collins.  I share the true stories of our ancestors and the objects that bring those stories to life.

My career in the world of archiving has taken me on a journey that has allowed others to share their stories and artifacts with me.

I’ve worked in the hallowed halls of the Smithsonian. I’ve curated the collections of high-profile Coloradans.  I’ve volunteered in the natural history heavy Denver Museum of Nature and science.  I’ve even tended my own private collection of genealogical records and artifacts.

It’s been a wide variety of experiences.  Along the way I’ve heard some amazing stories and helped preserve some of our country’s most important artifacts.  Those experiences and interactions have shaped who I am.  They’ve also shaped what I have the opportunity to share.  And share I will – both the stories I know, and those I’ve yet to discover.

I’m excited to bring my passion for personal histories and the preservation of the items associated with them to you.  It will be a new kind of American history podcast. – one that focuses on our stories and our trinkets.
